FIRST TIME AT THE FARM STORE? HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

First off, we are open every damn day, all year round, 9am-6pm.

WE’RE A ONE-STOP-SHOP

We source our products from over 30 local farms and makers in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts. We’ve got fresh fruit and vegetables (even in the dead of winter!), pasture-raised meat and poultry, pastured eggs, dairy (raw and pasteurized), fresh-caught seafood (every Saturday!), tofu, sourdough bread, bagels, and sweet baked goods, Maine-grown flours, kimchi and other ferments, honey, jams, spices, the list goes on and on. If you’re looking to eat local and eat in-season—look no further.

In addition to our vendors, here at VFF we raise our own pastured chickens, lamb, and cows. We also offer our rainbow eggs from our soy-free, organically-fed happy hens. And we’ve got a bunch of prepared goods thanks to Vernon Kitchen: four flavors of chicken bone broth, mushroom broth, chicken soup, and chicken pot pie.

FRIDAYS ARE FOR ROTISSERIE CHICKEN

Every Friday evening we’ve got fresh, hot Vernon Kitchen rotisserie chicken made right here on the farm. We use 5 different spice blends from Stock + Spice, so you can always mix it up. During the winter, birds are available from 4-6pm (4-7pm during warmer seasons). These are perfect as the main dish for a family of four, just grab a few veggies in the farm store to make a couple of sides and you’ve got dinner.

Solo diner? Pro tip: eat the legs on Friday, make some chicken salad with the breast on Saturday, and on Sunday boil the bones for the best stock ever, and make your favorite soup. Three meals or more with just one rotisserie chicken!

ONLINE SHOPPING & CURBSIDE PICK UP

Let’s be real, it’s been a hell of a year. We’ve rolled up our sleeves and are running with it the best we can. We created an online shop this year so our customers can easily purchase goods from the comfort of their home and then drop by the farm store to pick up at their convenience (in-store or curbside pick up).

Our farm store has been and remains open for customers to shop in-store as well. We are following CDC recommended guidelines including requiring masks, sanitizing hands upon entry, and only 3 customers in the store at a time. We’re also sanitizing our shopping baskets and wiping down surfaces regularly (obviously). We are still letting customers bring their own bags—please continue to do this and help us reduce waste.

WHERE’S THE FARM STORE?

You may or may not be super familiar with Newfields, NH. We’ve got a very cute general store and that’s about it. KIDDING! Seriously though, it’s a small town but we’re very close to towns you definitely know: Exeter? Ever heard of Portsmouth? We’re basically smack dab in the middle between Newmarket, Stratham, Epping, and Exeter. We’re about a 30-minute drive from Newburyport, and a 30-minute drive from York, Maine. More and more customers are taking the drive from Boston and Portland for their weekly or biweekly shop here at the farm. If you’re coming from a little distance, feel free to call if you want to make sure we’ve got a product in-stock, or of course you can order online.

Our address is 301 Piscassic Road, Newfields, NH 03856.

THRIVING COMMUNITY

We want you to truly enjoy your time visiting the farm. Of course, we’ve got the farm store, but we also have 33 acres of conserved land that we welcome you to explore. Need an outdoor activity with the kids? Come visit the farm and interact with the pastured animals: cows, lambs, chickens, and of course, Bruce the llama, the King of Newfields. We’re also offering farm tours on Saturdays, so you can get to know the inner workings of farm life and visit with our farmers and animals.

READY TO VISIT?

We can’t wait to meet you! If it’s your first time shopping at the farm store, mention this blog post to receive 5% off your first purchase. And before you come maybe check out our first blog post where the Vernon family shares their fave farm store products!
