Our Family Farm

Vernon Family Farm, located on 33 conserved acres in Newfields, NH along the Piscassic River and Rte. 87, works hard to provide local communities with healthy, nutrient dense food. 

We sell a variety of chicken, mushrooms and vegetables at our farm store, at farmer's markets and to local restaurants and grocers. We also carry other local farm products to round out our farm store selection. To learn more about our farm store and our products, come out to the farm and visit us! Thanks for shopping locally.

Jeremiah and Nicole Vernon, Vernon Family Farm owners

Jeremiah Vernon is a 10th generation New Hampshire native. He grew up in New London, NH on his family farm on Pingree Rd. and has always had a love for animals and the outdoors. He graduated from Proctor Academy and received his Bachelor of Science from Bates College, earning a degree in Biology. Post college, Jeremiah worked on Nezinscott Farm in Turner ME, where he fell in love with farming and his wife, Nicole Vernon. He has farmed land on the seacoast of NH for 10 years. He is passionate about the land his family owns now on the seacoast, which happens to be in the same school district where his wife teaches and children will soon be schooled.

Nicole Vernon grew up in Syracuse, NY and met Jeremiah while teaching Spanish at the Hyde School. She now teaches Spanish at Exeter High School. Nicole first fell in love with their property when running the cross country trails with the girl and boy runners she coached. Nicole is passionate about language and culture. She enjoys traveling and teaching her students and children the importance of being multilingual. She and Jeremiah are raising their children bilingually just like Nicole was raised by her Polish parents. Nicole works on the farm in the summer while watching her children. You can find her in the fields picking, in the store helping customers or keeping bees.

Magnolia, Indigo and Pingree are the farm girls. They enjoy eating veggies, looking for insects, speaking Spanish, holding chicks, admiring their pigs, driving the truck and tractor with their papa and seeing their friends at Fire and Ice.  

Tyler Brodie grew up in a town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and recently graduated from UNH's Thompson School of Applied Science with a degree in Integrated Agricultural Management. While there he was able to fill the gaps of knowledge left by practical experience with regard to soil chemistry, agronomy, and the interrelationships of ecosystems. This winter he will be starting a small business seasonally pruning apple orchards and small fruit farms. 


Justin Valentine is a part time student at the University of New Hampshire studying Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Woodworking. Justin's first experience in agriculture was three years ago when he took a Permaculture Design Certificate course offered in the NH Seacoast, and later that year joined the UNH Organic Garden Club. He managed their 1 acre garden along with the budget and administrative work for the club in 2014-15. The following year Justin tended the garden of Ken Young, of Young's Restaurant in downtown Durham, while Ken was hiking in Peru. In the spring of 2017 Justin found himself at Vernon Family Farm after meeting manager Tyler Brodie in their Internal Combustion Engines class at UNH's Thompson School of Applied Science.
