How It Works

Purchasing a whole lamb from Vernon Family Farm is a simple and rewarding way to stock your freezer with high-quality, pasture-raised meat. Our lambs are fed non-GMO grain and rotationally grazed on lush pastures, which ensures tender, flavorful meat. When you reserve a whole lamb, I guide you through your cut list so you get exactly what you want, packaged the way you need.

Buying a whole lamb is an investment, but it’s one that fills your freezer with meat you can trust and enjoy with your family.

To reserve your lamb, place your deposit either online or in our farm store. With a limited number of lambs available each season, securing yours early ensures you won’t miss out.

Once your reservation is confirmed, we’ll reach out to walk you through the custom cut sheet. This is where you decide how you’d like your lamb processed—would you prefer your leg of lamb whole or in smaller roasts? Do you love lamb chops or would you rather have more ground lamb? If you're new to buying in bulk, we’re here to help guide you through the process and answer any questions.

When your lamb is processed, it will be vacuum-sealed, USDA-certified, and frozen, keeping it fresh for over a year in a deep freezer. You’ll need approximately three cubic feet of freezer space, making it easy to store in a small chest or upright freezer. We’ll notify you when your order is ready, and the remaining balance will be due at pickup. If you’re able to pay in cash at the store, it’s much appreciated!

By reserving in advance, you’re not just securing incredible farm-raised lamb—you’re also helping the farm cover the costs associated with raising and processing the animals. If we sell out of our own lambs, we may source from other trusted farms, but you can always request lamb raised exclusively on Vernon Family Farm.

Lamb availability is extremely limited, so don’t wait—reserve yours today and enjoy delicious, locally raised lamb all year long!
